Strong Youth Through Strong Families
Kalparrin supports families of children with special needs with practical information and emotional support. It is often the siblings of children with special needs who report disadvantages in comparison to other families where life offers little or no spontaneity, financial constraints, embarrassment and ostracism by peers.
Thanks to Impact100 Kalparrin is able to offer its Strong Youth Through Strong Families Program, offering programs that build holistic family support and family resilience, whilst offering sibling specific opportunities to reduce the long term social and mental health issues for siblings of children with special needs.

Kalparrin Youth Group
Adolescence is a time of great change and special family circumstances can increase the likelihood of emotional distress and associated behaviours. In collaboration with the Murdoch School of Psychology this program aims to promote and prevent such behaviours from occurring through an interactive and fun program.
The trained facilitators will provide opportunities for young people to openly talk through their experiences of having siblings with disabilities and special needs and to learn new skills to manage the associated emotions and anxieties. This will also be a great opportunity for young people to meet others in similar family circumstances
Email Kalparrin if you would like to be notified of the next Youth Group
